2015 Mazda Mazda5 Design, Powertrain, Gas Mileage, Interior
It is perplexing to fit the 2015 Mazda Mazda5 to a particular category. Why? People say that it is a hauler, but it does not look like a one provided that the size is pretty compact to earn that title. It is a minivan with compact dimensions. Here are some of the highlights. You should know before taking one home. It is expected to be released sometime this year. The interior is one of the strongest values. It is just mind-blowing. We are amazed with its driving dynamics. It may lack spaciousness inside, but all the great features make up for it.
2015 Mazda Mazda5 interior
This car is the perfect combination of practicality and fun. They say that the design is polarizing. People can easily love or hate the swoopy surface. We think the detailing is pretty good. Most importantly, the interior is very conventional even though the exterior appearance is kind of a “take or leave it” thing. The cabin is pretty commodious. Well, it is called a minivan for a reason. The dashboard is user-friendly as well. We love the fact that the instrument cluster is driver-centric.
2015 Mazda Mazda5 powertrain
The powertrain is average. For a car considered as a minivan to carry many passengers, 157 horsepower of power output does not feel enough. Well, the company wouldn’t have let it pass the production lines with undepowered engine. Even with only that amount of power, it is still powerful enough to run the car. It is never meant for drag races after all, so the engine lineup makes much sense. There is also a 2.5-liter four-cylinder. It teams up with a five-speed automatic transmission to send power to the wheels. The mpg ratings are not worth-shouting about. It only has a record of 22 mpg / 28 mpg, city / highway.
Buyers have so many options. There will some variants sold to the market. Of course, there is an entry level for those who do not bother spending more. The features on the base can be enjoyed on other models, too. They include automatic climate control, a six-speaker am / fm / CD player, keyless entry, full power accessories, cruise control, and much more. Another mode has a nameplate of the Touring. This one has all the basic features along with 17-inch alloy wheels, a body kit, a five-speed automatic transmission, Bluetooth, to name a few.
2015 Mazda Mazda5 features
Some of these extras are optional. Though they are not available on the original trim levels, you can add them for some extra fees. At the top of the food chain, the Grand Touring perched comfortably. This one has many of the foregoing features, but there are also HID headlamps and heated leather seats. As said earlier, this car is rather compact to fit in the hauler category. This affects its seating capacity. If other minivans could seat up to 8 people, this one only accommodates 6 at most. There are more, but they only fit kids. Adults can not sit on those additional seats. However, comfort gets more attention. With less people, the passengers would feel more relieved as the seats can slide rearward to expand the legroom.
