Daihatsu Copen Review, Engine, Production, Pricing Details
The Daihatsu Copen is most definitely a cute car. Say whatever about its quirky appearance, it still looks lovely. You may find its design way too polarizing for the mainstream market. Well, the distribution is quite limited, actually. It was first made in Japan, known as a Kei car. It was one of the Kei cars, which were made in response to the local regulations pertaining to city cars. It said much about its unique appearance.
Daihatsu Copen engine
It seems as though the car has received a lot of influence. As you can see, the hardtop convertible roof looks like something from the SLK roadster. The performance is probably not worth shouting about, but it is pretty good regardless. Under the hood, there you will find a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine. The engine appeared on one of the latest versions. The former one had a smaller package, which was 660cc turbo. Well, since it is intended for city driving, abundant power is not a necessity.
The car can run pretty fast, actually. It runs faster than what you ever thought of. Though it is pretty quick, the ride feels more relaxed, couple it to the nice gear change and you will get a reliable package. You can use it to drive through impossible gaps and it can still do that without hassle. The fact that it is designed mainly for city driving says a lot about its on-road manners. Take your family to buzz around town and you will arrive at home without a single dull moment.
Daihatsu Copen interior
It has some flaws, of course. We can not expect for the best in everything from an affordable car. The part that we find annoying is the motors. They are too noisy for many to handle. While it can run pretty fast, you can not spur it at high speeds as it tends to jiggles after hitting certain figures on the speedometer. Since the car is pretty small, do not expect for the roomiest space. It is more like a touch sober. You can not be too big to get in the car. To be honest, the car seems to only fit average-sized people. Not only does the interior feel cramped, but the advent of the large steering wheel just makes things worse.
It is one of those things that turn people off and reduce its appeal. However, if you are unbothered squeezing into the car, it can be a joyful ride. Yes, the cabin is pretty tight, but the cargo space is sufficient. The perk of having such a small car is that you do not need to worry about parking as it fits nearly all kinds of parking lots. There are people who like quirky cars. If you are one of those who find frivolous vehicles entertaining, then you just found your soulmate.
Daihatsu Copen pricing details
You have to check the car out. How much is the car? The company has re-launched the series and now you can take one for £ 10.995. The new series has undergone some refreshment. The engine is better for the series, replacing the old one which was smaller. The acceleration is expected, though. Since the power plant is restrained, it can only sprint from zero to 62 in 9.5 seconds.
